We’ve got a full day Saturday scheduled to make some changes. Here are some pictures from last Friday, our first go at it. It wasn’t quite enough time to do everything we wanted. We plan on changing the position of the braces in back, finishing the barbell, adding a horizontal brace across the back and we’re going to try a physical (framed in) spotter to the front in order to create a little extra stability and safety during squats. We want to find a logical and convenient place to put a weight plate holder in the front also, we’ll try a few different locations.
We were excited to discover that the barbell racked in the back makes a excellent step up for pull ups. With more pegs added for plates maybe we’ll have the extra space for a the barbell rack. It would be great to have a place to store the barbell on the machine.
We’ll add more pictures on Saturday. Please let us know your thoughts!

I think you should use some square or rectangular HSS tubing in the back for cross bracing with the suggest thick plate at the base. The machine will be more rigid that way.

I think that it should be functional with the existing compound barbell system.
