I'm kind of sad this didn't really get off the ground yet. Yes, I would pay $2000 for it, if you would include 1) rings (sweet extra feature) 2) Weight bar and plates (black and rubberized like the traditional Soloflex freeweights, but with 45s and 25s.). I would pay that much because I trust Soloflex. I love the feel and quality of the original muscle machine. I have shopped for power racks and found it really tough to find something well-designed. Who can you trust to make a good, comfortable piece of equipment? You get up in the $1000 plus range pretty quickly without really being able to trust it.
I'd take Soloflex for the peace of mind any day. The fact that I know Soloflex is still a family business and made in the USA makes the purchase a no-brainer to me.

That looks an awfully lot like a smith machine with a bench.

Good luck selling that for two grand.

Hello -
I was doing some research today on exercise equipment when I came across your blog. At first I thought this was a contest so I thought I would take a stab a suggesting a name. After reading all of the possibilities there is only one that really made an impact and that I felt would appeal to a broad customer base. That name was the Soloflex LIFT.

As a gay man there is a lot of pressure within our community to look good and be physically fit in order to be considered attractive. This is especially true if you are over a certain age. The word LIFT is a strong word that will help people to feel empowered. This could be the LIFT that some people need to get out of the doldrums of their daily routines.

Great suggestion and I look forward to looking at the Soloflex LIFT when it is ready for the market.

I decided to look at this blog because I was looking for comments on different work out machines. I want to start working out at home because I pay $60 a month for my gym membership (it includes childcare) and I really think it is ridiculous with this economy. As I was reading the blogs, Armine had a great point. I think, as a woman, the name SOLOFLEX LIFT sounds empowering.

As someone who lifts weights in the Gym, LIFT sounds like a much better choice for the name of this soloflex. The name gives you the details of what you will be doing on the equipment, what it will do for you, and what it will do for your self image. I think SOLOFLEX LIFT sounds so much more attractive and it sounds like the kind of equipment I might like to purchase.

I'f I'm not mistaken (in regards to Molly's comments about "early" bodybuilders) Steve Reeves spent WWII in tranport ships doing deep knee bends, dips and pull ups. Worked pretty good for him.

I agree with Joe. I purchased my Soloflex back in 1991. My wife and I use it 4 times/week. We like to swim, ride bikes, and play softball. Our Soloflex has done the job quite nicely. Our daughter Susan however thinks that Molly's new machine will appeal to her age group. She is a swimmer in college and her swim coach is always pushing her to lift traditional free weights. This new machine would be perfect for her. With regards to the name of this new machine, Susan, my wife Debbie, and I all vote for Soloflex LIFT. In our house, lifting weights has always been associated with Soloflex...this name really captures the spirit of this new machine. Soloflex LIFT. Has a nice ring to it. Deb and I thank you for many years of good health.
