Hi Michael,
They really should never require any additional care but if they were to ever need any at all it would be at the point where the bearings are located. This is inside the handle and the main section of body. There is a bolt in that location, we call the saddle. Below there is the only location that may ever require any oiling at all. The needle bearings. This again should not ever need your help unless left outside in the elements. Oil will be the only thing you may ever need for your compound barbell. Just enjoy.

I have a compound barbell I purchased in 2007. I absolutely love it. As time goes on, are there any steps I should take as to maintenance of the rotating handles and their fit on the bar?

Hi Cora,
Thank you for your question. We in the office have been asking the owners to look into this and they have agreed. I have been told they are researching sites and companies working in mobile set up to get a number of downloads available for Soloflex customers. Hope to have something sooner than later. Thank you again.

Dear John,
Well you have given even a more detailed answer than what I was going to give. That is very good. I am going to come up with more questions and I hope to hear from you as you have given the perfect answer. I thought most people would have come up with a simple answer involving a calorie as a measure of energy only. Thank you so much for reading and playing along. Keep your eyes open for the next question.

I also purchased an armchair quarterback in 1985. I still use it three times a week. It's a great piece of equipment. I have a weight machine that I rarely use, and all the other pieces of equipment I have purchased over the years are gone.

I spoke with the people at Soloflex when they were about to discontinue its production. They told me that it was too expensive to manufacture. I believe it. And when I bought mine, it was at least 3 times the price of any other chinup type of equipment. I saved up for it. I think they had a hard time getting the price for it, and there was no way they could raise the price.

I remember purchasing it for its chinup capabilities and because I could just leave it out in my studio apartment disguised as a chair. Perhaps had they played down the chinup aspect and shown its other capabilities more, they could have gotten the higher price.

I like your website a lot. Easy question, though. A unit of energy, sililar to kilowatt, horsepower, BTU i.e. British Thermal Unit. Defined precisely as the amount of energy required to raise one gram of water by one degree C. Usually when we say calorie, we mean kilocalorie. A kilocalorie is the amount of energy needed to raise 1000 grams of water, i.e. one liter (about a quart) of water, by one degree. Carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, all have calories and contribute to the amount of calories we get in our diet. If that cookie we eat has 100 calories, (kilocalories really, i think) that's the amount of enegy sufficient to raise a liter of water by 100 degrees Centigrade or about a quart of water by about 200 degrees Fahrenheit -more than enough to make it boil. sounds like a lot. People generally need about 2000 calories per day.enough to

Connie,
Also, I have several vintage brochures which clearly shows the same tack-welding of the stainless strips my machine has.
Cheers!
